The reason our database is different from the few others out there offering photos---is the following. Those databases feature only self-uploaded, either more recent pictures, and/or, of particular UNusual surnames, whereas...Gumshoe holds the info/ pic images of Ancestors that we all (here in the US) go back to! That of those peo- ple whose surnames descended from the "first wave" of British Planters (settlers) who arrived here in America, from 1585 to 1638.
All ethnicities of Americans go back to these paricular British Surnames (unless here only in last 50yrs or so).This is because those first families,as they moved into newly opened-up American territories, MIXED-in "with" every ethnic group (that settled here later), to fulfill our "manifest destiny", as we headed westward, across our nation.
